Since it has been so long since I posted I thought I would send
an update.
We passed Somalia and Yemen yesterday, so we are more in the
clear of pirates now. We had razor wire, water cannons and armed guards on the ship.
And, they dressed something on the deck to look like a guard. It was bizarre.
They closed deck two for three days forcing us walkers up to deck 8 where it
was 6+ laps to a mile versus 4 on deck two.
Otherwise we have been just relaxing playing trivia and
bridge, going to lectures and shows and eating, eating and eating.
A few days ago, I did got to a cooking class (Cheryl, no not
Thai food) for an Arabia meal. It was skewered lamb with rice, cucumber salad
and this fantastic dessert. It had a date paste in the middle and had lots of
spices and nuts. I am going to try and make these when I get back. Here are a couple
of pictures from the happening.
Yogurt Cucumber Salad
Kabuli Rice with Meshaka
Asida Bi Dibs
We also had red and white wine and a great cocktail.
Our next stop is Jordon, and then to Egypt and the Mediterranean,
then London and home. Nineteen more days till London.
